Fordley Cottage is one of a pair of 3 bedroomed Edwardian cottages, built in 1903 and refurbished to a high standard to become a very comfortable family holiday cottage, suitable for all seasons.
Situated just outside the pretty village of Middleton, on a country lane just 10 minutes east of the A12, and only 4 miles from the coast, close to both Aldeburgh and Southwold, for us it provides a perfect combination of rural idyll and accessibility.
Set within grounds of half an acre, near a working farm and overlooking open fields it offers an ideal base from which to explore the immediate countryside, for “getting on your bike” or for simply getting away from it all. If it's peace and tranquility you want, or somewhere for the children to be "free spirits" this is to the place to stay.
The cottage is perfectly located for visits to the heritage coast and its heathlands (by car or cycle): Dunwich (4 miles), Minsmere (4 miles), Aldeburgh (8 miles), Walberswick (7 miles), Thorpeness (4 miles), Southwold (9 miles), Snape (7 miles) and Orford (10 miles).
You can also easily explore many historic and cultural centres such as Framlingham, Bungay, Beccles, Orford, Woodbridge, Snape, Halesworth and Lavenham. And from Darsham station you can extend your adventure into London (Liverpool St) or Norwich in two hours, and Ipswich in just under an hour.
Suffolk is famous for its churches and you will be spoilt for choice with Theberton, Blythburgh, Wenhaston pretty much on the doorstep.
The cottage is very well equipped and the garden includes garden furniture, children's trampoline and barbeque.
Nearby pubs and restaurants are at Middleton 1 mile, Yoxford 2 miles Eastbridge 2 miles and Saxmundham1.5 miles.
Pets are welcome - but the garden is not enclosed
